The pdfprivacy package for #latex removes sensible data from your PDF created with #pdftex, in particular dates, embedded file names, trailer ID, etc.

#PDF digital archaeology: in a more or less broken PDF of an academic paper I found a lot of unreferenced objects. And some of them contain understandable and meaningful text, probably from the authors, not displayed by Adobe Reader nor extracted by #Tika. . Exciting isn't it?
(Oh, and remember users of #pdfTeX that apparently when you insert an image inside a PDF, the absolute path and filename of the image is written in the PDF...)
Unicode pictograms to mark progressively rising values:

For Ace Maths I searched for unicode icons to mark progression: show that you’re getting better. Since I found a lot of different options (from simple sparklines to a huge list of animals), I’m collecting them in this article.
Includes a tip for somewhat better, automatic #unicode "image" suppport #LaTeX with plain #pdflatex / #pdftex
@saxnot There are several reasons. One of them is #xetex lacks a true #bidi model. But more importantly, #luatex provides tools for #PDF not available in #pdftex or #xetex. A couple of links: https://www.texdev.net/2024/11/05/engine-news-from-the-latex-project • https://latex3.github.io/babel/guides/migrating-xetex-luatex.html
The latest release of LaTeX went to CTAN on Friday, and moves us forward in truly automatic tagging for PDFs, particularly for mathematics. As part of the work, we have been looking at the capabilities of different engines. Here, I want to summarise what users should take from that for existing and for new documents.
Now that #luatex is the recommended engine for LaTeX, you can find in the #babel site minimal localized documents for about 300 languages and 45 scripts. There are also basic guides on how to migrate from #pdftex and #xetex.
News about #LaTeX from Joseph Wright: #LuaTeX is the recommended system, and #XeTeX is not recommended. #pdfTeX is still supported, but it is better to start new projects with luaTeX. Full news in the link below. #TexLaTeX

Intro til LaTeX
Vi starter med det enkleste dokumentet en kan lage i LaTeX med en tekst om en ny og spennede elektrisk bil tatt i fra Teknisk Ukeblad fra noen år tilbake.
