KiCad 10.0.0 released
It’s the turning of the seasons today, and to celebrate, the KiCad project is proud to announce the release of Version 10! This release is packed with new features, improvements, and hundreds of bug fixes. We hope you enjoy it! Head to the KiCad download page to get your copy (note that some packages may still be in the process of being released at the time this announcement is published). Our thanks go out to everyone who contributed to KiCad this past year. Whether your contribution was large or small, writing code, submitting bug reports, improving our libraries and documentation, or just supporting us financially: your help made a difference. Read on to see some of the highlights of the new version!
KiCad 9.0.8 released
I have a project in mind that needs as short of a 7 pin big DIN male connector as I can get, ideally attachable to a PCB flush at its base. Ripping one out of a typical DIN cable is way too deep the way the usual in-cable housings work. This pictured part from a supplier on Alibaba is the closest I've found.
Does anyone have any insights on sourcing some in the US for prototyping? More precise terminology to describe the form factor or a better PCB mountable version?
When designing Bluetooth PCBs (e.g., JieLi AC695N/AC696N), pay attention to DC-DC layout:
• Prioritize short, wide ground paths – avoid long thin traces.
• Place decoupling caps near chip pins.
• Keep DCDC away from antenna, near battery.
• Inductor close to SW pin, no vias, no components underneath (especially MIC).
• FB sampling after output cap; divider resistors near FB pin.
