North West Mounted Police (1940), a 1940 Cecil B. DeMille western. He didn’t make movies the way modern critics and reviewers think movies should be made. Personally I prefer DeMille’s way of making movies. He loved melodrama. I love melodrama.

I don't know why but I found the trumpet contest scene with Fonda & Stewart funnier than Fonda's performance in THE LADY EVE. Probably because the appeal of real life friendship between the two. There's also the real life marriage between Burgess & Paulette.
