Name suppression lapsed today for former music industry blowhard & NZ Idol judge Paul Ellis.
"Ellis pleaded guilty in the Nelson District Court today to driving with excess breath alcohol on a third or subsequent time after blowing 1688 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath.
The legal limit is 250mcg."
This is another case of doubtful suppression because an alcoholic living in his car was never likely to resurrect his career. He was also convicted of driving while disqualified.
Ellis is either 61 or 62, Wikipedia isn't sure. He'll be sentenced in August.
