Not surprised by this - older folk in #Suffolk got what they wanted - they complained bitterly for *3 decades* about loud #music, #booze and #partydrugs and demanded "streets got cleaned up"

Todays youth don't drink as much #alcohol, are more wary of #drugs due to health effects and consequences such as risk of being nicked for #DUI midweek (even if not impaired for #driving but with metabolites still in bloodstream), there's also increased workplace substance testing for those doing safety (or even business) critical work, more long hours/weekend working and young people are still skint anyway.

The #nightlife of the 80s-00s simply isn't coming back in its original form..

Getting into #drug dealing to the level these lads were at ages you - I'd originally thought they were old skool ravers closer to my age (or at least 30-something Millenial party folk), not still in their 20s!

As a former #partydrugs user I'm torn about the #sentencing - it seems harsh when there was 0 violence involved with the #drugs themselves - but continued #MDMA and #ketamine use *does* fuck people up in the long term and they appear to have previous for fighting their own siblings in the middle of a Co-op in #Sheppey #Kent which is precisely the kind of sketchy impulsive behaviour taking too much drugs can lead to (the emotional ups and downs can really play games with your mind, and not good ones..)

This is a *lot* of prison (12 years for the lad, he will serve 6-9 of them inside) for just #partydrugs with no violence involved, but there was a lot being sold!

Digging a bit deeper it appears he *tried* to get out of the game after #Encrochat got popped, laundered the money into an events management company but it folded (even ending up with an Employment Tribunal judgment as he didn't pay his staff correctly), then got back into dealing and thus created a second set of data for #MetPol to track and nick him!

#Ketamine has now fucked up at least 2 generations in the UK (it was becoming a problem when I was a #raver in the 90s/00s) and the worst part of this is the fallout is only likely to lead to yet more #prohibition and #surveillance targeted at all the remaining #partydrugs users...

There is 0 gain for either the #Police or the #retail outlets to lie about or exaggerate this phenomenon. I can well believe it happens as there has been a whole generation brought up to believe "there is no such thing as society", as well as many middle class people who are still bitter and angry (especially those who enjoyed #partydrugs in the 80s to 00s and have been forced to quit them due to more effective enforcement (and they can't behave badly on the roads either due to #CCTV ) - risky actions like #shoplifting can be another way of getting a dopamine hit)

On one level this #meme is genuinely funny, but in reality its a good way for the kid to end up with a #safeguarding referral or worse, Dad ends up losing custody/visiting rights if he is no longer in a relationship with the kids mum (its happened to people I know!)

(I suspect the meme is from about 10-15 years ago when folk were more tolerant about #partydrugs use)

A 35 year old "drug-bro" and #entrepreneur from #Kent SE #England got 15 years #prison for producing #MDMA / #ecstasy tablets and other #partydrugs and filming his own lab on a mobile phone to show off to prospective customers.

Quite a long stretch for a #guilty plea (he would have got even more had the #Court case gone to trial, probably 20 years +). He will likely serve 10 years inside.
