Originally I wanted to make something involving #kumiko, but I also have enough of those ⬆️ pre-cut Penrose tiles left for another piece of #parquetry, so I decided to do both.

French polish is a very shiny finnish.

After applying the shellac with short, circular swizzes of a cotton pad, sadly each coat takes about a day to dry, and a good polish takes at least five coats and/or a few more (I tally them to keep count). Nor way of russian' it; the only option is: you go slaw.

I think it's the best way to make a workpiece look that swede. Danish oil (or greese) just doesn't compare.

Czech out what an estonishing piece I have croated:

Oookay, my thought was "let's apply a coat of shellac before sanding it so the sanding dust does not transfer between the colors", but apparently the red color in padouk is also very soluble in alcohol… 🙈 I hope that the red stains sand out later… I only have 0.6 mm of thickness to work with here #woodworking #marquetry #parquetry
"Are you working on New Year's Eve?!?" "No, I'm not working, I'm having fun." "Ah. Well then." 😅
