It’s so refreshing to be reading an older #philosophy book that has true #footnotes instead of #endnotes. In addition to the obvious, it reminds me of a conversation with my favorite philosophy professor — when I complained about the frustration of dealing with endnotes, having to bounce back and forth between text and notes, he said “Oh, I just read all of the endnotes first, and then read the text itself.” Would that I could.
