After "biblically accurate Christmas baubles" in November, which turned out to be too heavy, I had to try a new way to manage these goggly eyes :D
Five brand new papier-mâché bracelets are ready for painting!

The idea isn't mine, but it's quite a few years old, and now I can't trace the source. Besides, I make these from upcycled papier-mâché and not from plastic bases.

The bracelet holder is finally finished, yay! Wasn't that a lot of work!
Final papier-mâché stage: two pulp layers.
I make the pulp from paper, water, PVA glue, and a bit of plaster. With this recipe, the surface comes out very rough but also extremely strong - stronger than wood. This is both good and bad: on the one hand, it’s almost impossible to break the finished pieces; on the other hand, anything you want to make smooth needs to be puttied and then sanded for a long time.
Rainsticks. All made a long time ago; the oldest one is probably 15 years old. Some are made of papier-mâché, some just from sticks and ropes, and all have paper towel rolls inside.
I don't know why I keep making them. There is something magical about their sound. There is also something magical about creating musical instruments literally from garbage.
