24 April update on Palestine Action trial:
The defendants described how they targeted Elbit's use of deadly AI.
Crucially, the UK government is applying "terrorism" grounds, but has banned the jury from knowing that & the press from reporting it.
In addition, the defendants are banned from explaining their motivation, namely, to destroy equipment used in Israel's genocide.

Report: Britain is pulling out all the stops to persecute Palestine Action.
The defendents are forbidden from explaining their motivations or mentioning Israel or its genocide.
The jury is told there are criminal charges, but not that the judge can sentence for "terrorism."
The British press has been ordered not to report on the terrorism aspect.

More than 130 leading scholars and public figures are risking arrest under the Terrorism Act after writing an open letter to the Court of Appeal concerning Palestine Action.
The Open Letter comes after a dozen people have been unlawfully arrested outside Woolwich Crown Court during the hugely controversial retrial of six of the Filton 24.
#SallyRooney, #GretaThunberg and #BrianEno have written to the court of appeal in support of #PalestineAction before next week’s hearing 28th 29th to determine the lawfulness of the ban on the direct action protest group.
The letter, composed of only seven words – “We oppose genocide, we support Palestine Action” – is signed by more than 130 people and is the first time that prominent scholars, writers and activists have come together to defy the ban
Effectively making them terrorists.
Further to my post yesterday about Trudi from Defend Our Juries, people are getting arrested JUST for holding a placard that says
"Juries have the absolute right to acquit based on their conscience"

In 2001, the "jury's right to acquit on their conscience" was acknowledged by the House of Lords in R v Wang, but judges are not required to tell jurors about this power during a trial.

Their signs have the words “jurors have an absolute right to acquit a defendant according to their conscience” and “jurors deserve to hear the whole truth” - both perfectly lawful signs. This is in response to the Met’s draconian restrictions on yesterday’s peaceful (and totally lawful) vigil outside Woolwich Crown Court, where two sign-holders were unlawfully arrested for holding the same sign. It is not unlawful to hold these signs outside a court. The 2024 case of Secretary General vs Trudi Warner (who was one of those arrested yesterday) proved that in law. This is taking place outside a court where defendants are being denied a fair trial, secretly tried as “terrorists” despite having no terrorism charge and the group they’re allegedly involved in being unlawfully proscribed. Police are attempting to stretch Public Order laws to cover this peaceful action, claiming that it is “intimidation”, contrary to Judge Saini’s ruling in the 2024 Warner case.
