@ascentale #bikeNite A8 more of a question really, why are architects able to use real #bollards but #trafficEngineers can't somehow / all bike lanes get is paint? #bikeTooter #paintIsNotProtection
I hope they find the traffic Engineer who did this πŸ˜’ #pdxBikes #BarburBlvd #paintIsNotProtection #verticalPaint #plastic
Supposedly these cars are smart but I keep seeing them do stupid shit. #tesla #FuckCars #DriverAccountability #Portland #paintIsNotProtection #pdxBikes
@daihard bravo to that driver only. I took these two pictures at the same time while riding uphill with load on a trailer. #pdxBikes #paintIsNotProtection
Delivering some one-handed package, dude just turned out of a side street half a block down and parks on this sidewalk+bike lane. Even on 35mph #stroads, giant delivery trucks are slower than electric cargo bikes, and a hazard. Though probably OSHA wouldn't allow it, #paintIsNotProtection and neither are plastic sticks. Bus lanes would make a world of difference here if ODOT and Beaverton would play along. #bhHwy

At least these two drivers parked on half of the car lane so if you're going around them on a bike the car behind you mostly needs to change lane anyways. The amazon driver is nestled tight into just the bike lane though. They should just mark several "STOP HERE FOR LOADING" rectangles in the left middle of the right car lane, maybe "TURN FLASHERS ON / KEEP BIKE LANE CLEAR" but that wouldn't be MUTCD compliant right. #trafficEngineers #PaintIsNotProtection #InducedDemand #EngineeringTraffic

"Bicycles, #Gender, and Risk: #Drivers Behaviors When Passing [people on bikes] ... measuring passing distance on a minimum of 400 passing events on each type of roadway... Vehicle passing distances ranged from a mean of 90 inches on the #bollards -protected bike lane to lows of 62-63 inches on roadways with no facilities, shoulders only, and [ #paintIsNotProtection ]" (that's american for almost 1m difference)

Bicycles, Gender, and Risk: Driver Behaviors When Passing Cyclists

New research on drivers' behavior when passing cyclists shows that women have real reason to be concerned about their safety on the road.

Gender Policy Report

might need an Engineer to take a look at this paint.

oops is that a picture of #drivers ignoring #PaintIsNotProtection / #PBOT #pdxBikes "infrastructure" that poses zero threat to their car?
