Ozouni (お雑煮) is basically a mixed vegetable soup with mochi (sticky rice cakes) we eat in the new years. “雑” (zou) means “casual,” and there are many versions, depending on the regions or families. “煮る” (niru) means “to simmer” btw.

Mine is, of course, plantBased. I just use whatever is in the fridge and Mitsuba which gives the subtle flavor of the early spring.

One of my favorites: Ozōni/お雑煮, a kind of New Year' soup with freshly pounded mochi. I'll eat for a couple more breakfasts...until mochi is gone.
