What a perfect day to take a run out the Prescott-Russell trail. Not much wind, which was behind me on the return trip, not super hot, traffic getting to and from the trail was very light due to the holiday. Couldn't ask for better.

Found a really nice place to stop and rest, despite a few insects finding me very interesting.

Today's #NorcoSceneVLT #ebike #ottbike ride was almost all paths and trails and mostly trails in Old Quarry covering most of the rigid bike rideable trails.

I had to go out past Greenbank today. I took a mix of side streets and the Pinecrest Creek MUP there, and then up Holly Acres to Watson Creek/Ottawa River MUPs.

That last stretch, especially from Carling to the parkway was overflowing. Once I could get on the open for bikes parkway, there was space for everyone.

While I love having the space, I hate that the NCC is sticking to bike mornings again this year.

Q for the #cycling #BikeTooter folks: What’s the best kind of paint for a bike?

Background: I have a 30 year old Raleigh Portage that has developed a few spots of rust that I’d like to take care of before they get serious. I figure this as good an opportunity as any to spruce the bike up (thinking orange and purple stripes). Bike shop will strip it down to the frame for me, so I’d just have to paint the bike and luggage racks.

Any advice from people who have painted their bikes?
