What a week, huh? And it's only Tuesday! But spring has sprung, the mornings are fresh, and the Easter holidays are barely days away. Drinking mead... listening to Maeror Tri... like almost every day, except today I've also moved from my single-user masto.host server to oslo.town. I wasn't really planning to, but I just got tired of finding ways to free up disk space to keep my current subscription plan. Plus, being able to search looks nice. Last but not least, oslo.town has always seemed like a well-run server in the city where I live.
The first year or so of hosting my own Mastodon instance, certain friends told me "stop trying to make Mastodon a thing" or asked "why do you even bother?!"
But, I've been using Mastodon since about 2017 and running oslo.town since 2019 and have no regrets.
