I feel obliged to emphasize the limitation of the data we were working with, by pointing out that my teen stepson and I converted through different movements, he in a Reform context and I in a Humanistic context. His conversion is definitely included in the AJA statistics because the rabbi showed us the reporting form she was sending in.

My adoption into Judaism (the preferred term for conversion in the #HumanisticJudaism movement) was likely not reported to the AJA, and hence I wasn't listed in the conversions, but since I'm an active member of a Reform temple, I am probably listed in the total Jewish population number).

Anyway, I point out this to say that the numbers could be a little different if we had more precise data. I think I'm going to make it my goal to convince the movements of #ReconstructingJudaism #HumanisticJudaism #RenewalJudaism and #OrthodoxJudaism to contribute their stats to the #AmericanJewishArchive.
