I am blooming…

this last winter
may have been
especially cold to me
but I’m warming up
to my own version
of a flowing
inner spring

I spent an almost endless
season
purging and healing
shedding old skin
letting go of
heavy things
slowly
unwinding
going deep within
a cocoon
of expansion

I finally feel ready
to burst through
the shell
of protection
I wrapped
the softest parts
of myself in

I am sprouting
from seeds I planted
and nurturing
the garden within me

I am growing
forming
roots deep
into the earth
to keep me grounded
as I gently
spread my wings
