An old #guitar in a new tuning. (I should do some fret leveling and dressing, and clamp down that rattling pick guard,) F#m7 tuning is an interesting experiment; not sure how long it'll last on this guitar, though. https://weeklybeats.com/onezero/music/prominent-spider

Prominent Spider
A week or so ago, I found a tuning I'd written down, though I don't remember where I'd encountered it or when. This one's E F# C# E F# A. It's sonorous, though the string intervals are fairly close, so there are a lot of unisons that pop up under one's hand. On impulse, I retuned my old Kalamazoo KG-2 to use this tuning, and we have a little exploration of it here. The Kalamazoo needs some fret attention: you'll hear buzzing notes, and buzz from the not-entirely-stabilized fretboard. (That results in a kind of quack in a couple places.) It's just an honest statement of this instrument at this time. Signal chain: Kalamazoo KG-2 through JHS Colourbox 10, into Ableton Live. There's some convolution reverb send, and multiband compression/EQ on the stereo mix. The title comes from The Spider, a summit in Colorado with a prominence of 638 ft.
