I just published a short piece ahead of an upcoming opioid abatement council meeting:
Before Opioid Overdose
Rethinking prevention in borderline personality disorder and substance use disorder.
It explores a regulation-based hypothesis linking endogenous opioid dysregulation, BPD, and opioid vulnerability, and it asks whether earlier intervention deserves study.
If you’re a clinician or researcher interested in this line of inquiry, I have a more detailed concept note I’m happy to share by request.
I'd welcome thoughtful feedback.
