Nie robiłem badań, nie mam żadnych wyników ankiet, ale wydajemisię, że monitoring i obserwowalność nie stoją na zbyt wysokiej pozycji priorytetowych zadań wielu entuzjastów selfhostingu. I nie ma w tym nic dziwnego, bo selfhosting (czy tam “homelabbing”) to dla wielu głównie zabawa w szukaniu coraz to ciekawszych aplikacji, które mogą zastąpić komercyjne odpowiedniki czy poprawić codzienne życie. Monitoring, sposoby deploymentów, zarządzanie konfiguracją może więc wydawać się tym “the boring work”. Ale według mnie wcale tak nie musi być i monitoring oraz obserwowalność stały się dla mnie głównymi “zabawkami” selfhostingu na niekrótki czas.

I am currently in the process of #bootstrapping a very complex Tier-0 infrastructure, and I am extremely surprised (or rather pleased) at how useful #Podman (and Quadlets) have become for such scenarios. A huge improvement from both a security and operational POV!
Tier-0 bootstrapping = neither #Ansible nor #OpenTofu available yet ... a real PITA ...

What I had forgotten is that I need the integration with #ansible #molecule but there is no driver available. Of course I could test my ansible code in a completely different way but staying with the standard molecule tool is IMO better.
#pulumi is still quite interesting as an alternative to #terraform or #opentofu and their (awful?) HCL language, I'll look at it further later

I thought the day I had to write 2 core subject exam within 1 hour gap would be the toughest day of this semester. but it was not. It was these past 2 days.
The Karnataka CARE migrations was the last of the 6 10bedicu states and along with the data migration we went on with an architecture change that's more modern and is powered by #opentofu IAC.
