For many many years now I've been suggesting and urging many of the companies I've worked for to steer away from Microsoft's eco-system. I've had many reasons for this, reliance on one provider, buying into uncertain business practices, insecurity about information sharing, etc... Many of these things have been borne out over the years and now with Windows 11 and the integration of ads and upselling, my suspicions have been confirmed. Today Microsoft Azure had a technical glitch and many services went down, including some of Office365. The companies I've worked for have never listened to me and as I approach my retirement 36 months and counting, honestly I couldn't care less now. I hope someone reads this and thinks about it. Consider ditching Microsoft and do something else. Will it be difficult, maybe? But the freedom you'll gain and possibly the reliability will be worth it. Remember the KISS principle, it often works better. #microsoft #OSS #opensoure #self-reliance #softwarefreedom
