🍀 Feeling lucky this March?
The real pot of gold isn’t hidden at the end of a rainbow — it’s in open research and stronger scholarly connections.
When scholars share knowledge openly, discoveries travel farther, collaborations grow, and communities benefit.
That’s the kind of gold we’re after.

Recently had to write a short bio about my Open Science work. I've also been harshly reminded (again) that many well-funded Open/Meta Science projects still expect unpaid expert contributions. I don't think we should be working for free. Do you?

Recently had to write a short bio about my #OpenScience work (trimmed for LinkedIn). I've also been harshly reminded (again) that many well-funded OS projects still expect unpaid expert contributions. I don't think we should be working for free. Do you? 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 I co-founded and managed REPOPSI (2020–2025), the first open repository for psychological instruments in Serbian. I led #ResearchDataManagement and repository development in alignment with FAIR Data principles and curated 250+ instruments. As PI of a €50K Horizon 2020 project, I scaled its infrastructure and long-term sustainability. I disseminated REPOPSI through 10+ talks and webinars, as well as through writing (including social media, blogs, and a Nature column). Since 2023, I have served on the Executive Committee of the nonprofit initiative ABRIR, contributing to projects that improve the representation of Majority World researchers in open and #BigTeamScience. I have also served as Coordinator of the Open Science Community Serbia (since 2023) and as contributor to FORRT (since 2021). I have been an active member of the Research Data Alliance since 2020 and am currently part of their Ambassadors Coordination Group. In 2025, I co-authored the collaborative paper “Open Science in the Developing World: A Collection of Practical Guides for Researchers in Developing Countries”. Alongside this work, I spent six years as a Research Assistant at the University of Belgrade, conducting primarily quantitative research in social psychology and public health communication. I actively practice open science (e.g., preregistration, open data, preprints) and work extensively with #R, OSF, and Zenodo. In 2024, I received the inaugural “Sarah Jones Award for Exceptional Contribution to Fostering Collaboration in Open Science” from the Research Data Alliance. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 Most recently, I have been involved in training activities through the ABRIR projects. In 2025, I led the development of a lesson plan titled “Improving DEI in Open Science: Recognizing Strengths and Opportunities in the Majority World”. In 2024, I co-delivered a webinar, “Open and Big Team Science: Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina Perspective”, aimed at a diverse academic audience from both countries. I have also delivered multiple webinars and trainings related to REPOPSI. I delivered two recorded webinars hosted by the Open Science Community Serbia, focused on how to use REPOPSI and highlighting its benefits. In addition, I developed training materials and manuals and provided onboarding and transition training for volunteers and incoming repository managers. In 2023, I delivered an in-person workshop on recruiting research participants using Facebook campaigns as part of the Young Researchers’ Programme at the LIRA Lab. In 2022, I co-delivered an invited online lecture on survey translation and adaptation in multi-site projects, as part of the ABRIR Workshop Series.
