Ok this is the final setup of my OpenMandriva installation.
I installed xfce, because is my favorite desktop, but for now I'll stick with plasma6.
I really like "Commonality" color scheme.
Switched to OpenMandriva.
#SonicDE is being demoed on a #Steam Deck by the @openmandriva devs at #FOSDEM in Brussels. They launched, quote, "the most expensive marketing program in history" :-D;-) and we're happy to be part of it. Visit them at booth H4, or get the upcoming SonicDE packages for #OpenMandriva in the next few days.
P.S. The slogan on the front of the OpenMandriva booth reads:
OPENMANDRIVA - The OS Of Choice For Those Who Prefer Good Code Over Good Marketing
The @openmandriva devs are demoing their distribution with #XLibre at #FOSDEM in Brussels. They brought an #AMD BC250, a #GPD MicroPC 2 UMPC, a #Radxa Orion O6 #ARMv9 SBC, and a #Steam Deck, all running XLibre on #OpenMandriva Cooker.
They said, "OpenMandriva is pleased to announce the launch of the most expensive marketing program in history at FOSDEM." ;-) You can experience this gem at booth H4.
Dammit
For some reason the kernel isn't seeing my laptop speakers as an output device. Morad, I'm pretty sure I heard the startup jingle back when I first installed Linux on this laptop....
Thinking I'll stop using #Magiea and try #OpenMandriva or #PClinuxOS something with a newer kernel (I'm on 6.4) and see if the problem magically goes away.
(I also want something that doesn't need me to compile Signal myself ideally, and has Wayland for desktop scaling when I use the laptop to run my TV)
OpenMandriva was one of my favorite Linux distros — until I learned they were Nazis. I wish I were joking. 😭
When Firefox started to abandon user privacy and began bundling AI alongside ads, some Linux distros began asking whether they should continue shipping Firefox at all. And even those that didn’t ask the question, their community members certainly did.
OpenMandriva was no different, and more than a few people suggested Brave Browser. I pointed out that the founder, owner, and CEO is anti–COVID, anti-vaccine, opposed to women’s rights, anti–Black Lives Matter, anti–LGBTQ+, and a big fan of Donald Trump. A really hateful person, and it might not be a good idea to further empower or reward their work.
Naturally, it was an open forum, and I expected a random troll — just another random user. People I could ignore and pay no mind to, since ultimately their nonsense wouldn’t matter. I did not expect the community staff and developers to argue that this was a selling point for Brave Browser. 🤦
