@ziltoidium Nice! Falls du bei macOS bleiben willst - der #opencorepatcher - ein Träumchen. Mac Mini 2011 läuft mit Sonoma als wäre es ganz normal (was es ja auch ist, nur dass Apple halt einfach sagt, dass dieses oder jenes OS nicht mehr installiert werden kann…äh…darf 😉)

@netzpolitik_feed Überhaupt Apple Produkte. Da werden die noch ihr blaues Wunder erleben. Da gehen sicher diverse Geräte inklusive SSD kaputt. Nur weil Apple das eben so baut, dass das manchmal vor kommt... Und dann muss es gleich ein neues Gerät sein. Zudem noch die Updatefähigkeit vom Betriebssystem künstlich einschränken. Gruselige Art mit Ressourcen umzugehen. Ein Hoch auf #opencorepatcher. Trotzdem Apple sucks.

All done. It will need less swapping and compression now and should overall be faster, especially for such memory hogs as X-Plane and #DaVinci #Resolve. (and of course #Firefox ...).
As a side note, it seems that Resolve now can utilise #Metal rendering on my ancient #nVidia card, for which #Apple dropped support some 6 years ago. Open Core Legacy Patcher rocks. #XPlane rejects the card as too old, though and reverts to OpenGL rendering.

#Apple doesn't want you to.
But #OpenCore Legacy Patcher makes Ventura run on old hardware. Works pretty well so far. No #Metal on the old #NVIDIA #Kepler architecture, but I'll keep looking into it.

Just installed #Ventura on my decade old unsupported Ye Olde #MacBookPro. So far it appears to have Just Worked™. Hurrah for #OpenCorePatcher! Hurrah for the people here who recommended it to me! I kiss you all! 💋
