The real power of #opensource lies with OPEN STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
At #KubeCon it took the center stage. I summarized the important #KubeConEU updates you should be aware of in this blog post, on #Prometheus #opentelemetry #opencensus

#OpenCensus is officially ARCHIVED as of this month!
If you're still using opencensus, note that it's DEPRECATED, and it's time to move to #OpenTelemetry.

The end of an era: sunsetting #OpenCensus.
What's next? #OpenTelemetry of course! 🔭
Now OpenTelemetry has reached feature parity with OpenCensus in C++, .NET, Go, Java, JavaScript, PHP and Python.
Better yet, OpenTelemetry offers a richer ecosystem of instrumentation libraries and exporters, and an active #opensource #community.
Check out the full details, and how to migrate, on the project's blog:

Sunsetting OpenCensus

In 2019, we announced that OpenTracing and OpenCensus would be merging to form the OpenTelemetry project. From the start, we considered OpenTelemetry to be the next major version of both OpenTracing and OpenCensus. We are excited to announce that OpenTelemetry has reached feature parity with OpenCensus in C++, .NET, Go, Java, JavaScript, PHP and Python. Stable releases of both the Tracing and Metrics SDKs are available in most of these languages with Go and PHP soon to follow.
