Upgrading to OMV 8 RC1 actually seems to have provided some stability to my hosting situation. At the very least, some combination of the upgrade, the removal of the faulty drive, the rebuild of the storage array, and/or the intentional restructure of the container support file structure seems to have improved things for me. At the very least the system now outputs video through my GPU. More testing is required.

I should have moved to #TrueNAS AGES ago...

On #OMV or #UnRAID I struggle to actually get over 1Gbps write speeds on rust drives despite having a Mellanox3 on both machines.

Right now I'm writing to TrueNAS at what is essentially drive speed (just saw 166MB/s), and it's not faster because it's a single-transfer situation being dealt with by #Syncthing (direct connection, though), which also has overhead from hashing going on.

Installing apps on TrueNAS is atrocious when compared to plain Docker Compose, though. The amount of permission errors alone is exhausting to deal with. Though I'm getting used to it.
