It's slightly past its best - which gives it much more character. (possibly a picture that says as much about the photographer as subject.)

🪲 Alder leaf beetle mating 🇫🇮
ℹ️ The alder leaf beetle (Agelastica alni) is up to 7 mm long. It can be found in Europe, Asia and North America. As its name suggests, the beetle feeds on the leaves of alder trees, which is also its preferred habitat.

ℹ️ Der Erlenblattkäfer (Agelastica alni) wird bis zu 7 mm groß. Er kommt in Europa, Asien und Nordamerika vor. Wie der Name schon andeutet ernährt sich der Käfer von Erlenblättern, was dann auch sein bevorzugter Lebensraum ist.
