Decided to finally try MacOS for a bit. Thanks @warthunder1969 for the free macbook pro. Got it updated to the latest MacOS version with OpenCore Legancy Patcher. That's after two full days of frustration on when it failed the first time and refuse to reinstall MacOS. FYI, turn off Dynamic Background and that will save your cpu from high usage.

Finally got round to doing a full factory reset and clean install on my retired #MacBookAir2012 8GB ram A1466 ! Updated Mountain Lion to the last supported OS, #Catalina. Partioned the 500GB SSD for dual booting into my upcoming daily driver: #LinuxMint 21.3 Cinnamon! Really excited.

If this all goes to plan, I want to replace the non-existent battery, reapply new thermal paste (12y+ old) and get an adapter for a NVMe ssd in there.

I didn't mean to get into #MARCHintosh but it just sort of happened. My BlueSCSIv2 arrived in the mail today and I fitted it into the #PowerBook 140 I got a few years ago. After a couple of false starts with a bad microSD card it worked perfectly. The original Conner drive is long dead.

The screen is in pretty good shape and the RAM has been upgraded from 2MB to 4MB.

I've finally gotten around to putting the ol' iMac G3 back together - Still without a functional CD drive or an OSX install, but I couldn't stand seeing it lying flat with its guts exposed any longer lmao

I think I could use XPostFacto to install OSX directly to a partition from a usb key in MacOS 9 - Really want to get 10 or 10.1 in there, as early aqua really fits the translucent plastic aesthetic.

The LTT screwdriver is probably slightly overpriced for most people, but as far as vanity purchases go, I'm at least pretty glad to have a ratcheting driver with a killer magnet now. 🎉
Certainly made screwing the drive bay back in this darn thing wayyy easier
