Man I get worked up over stuff like this. #OctaviaButler is one of my favorite writers, and the thought of reading more of her work is tantalizing, but:
She didn't want it published. I can't love her work and not respect her as a person, that feels wrong.
Sure, she might have changed her mind if she was still with us now, but she's not here to do that, so respecting her original wish feels like the right call.
I'm not demanding that you shouldn't read it, but I don't think I will.
