Parallel SerialsMay Sci-Fi Novel: Imago (Butler), the last in the Xenogenesis trilogy. I'd hoped it would follow Akin from Adulthood Rites, I really came to like him by the end of that book and respect the way he insisted on a future for humanity despite the high likelihood of them destroying each other. I hope he shows up and I hope that humanity makes him proud. Not sure what to expect from this book, but I'm not optimistic about humanity's chances on Mars. #octaviabutler #scifi #books #literature #reading

Man I get worked up over stuff like this. #OctaviaButler is one of my favorite writers, and the thought of reading more of her work is tantalizing, but:
She didn't want it published. I can't love her work and not respect her as a person, that feels wrong.
Sure, she might have changed her mind if she was still with us now, but she's not here to do that, so respecting her original wish feels like the right call.
I'm not demanding that you shouldn't read it, but I don't think I will.
