I liked the patterns the high cirrus clouds made in the sky above the Ochil Hills in this shot. It almost looks like someone behind the hills has a huge spray-can of Cirrus Cloud White 🧐.
The Gnarly Tree. This sits at the foot of the switchback track that leads to both Silver and Alva Glen in the Ochils. Shot yesterday afternoon in the brilliant Spring sunshine.
Glenwinnel Burn in the Ochils, where it crosses into Alva Glen at the foot of Craighorn. Taken from a small bridge, looking directly down to the flowing stream.
This path leads from the Woodland Park car park near Alva up to the access point to Silver and Alva glens in the Ochils. The sunlight in the morning is beautiful here, and I've shot this scene many times.
A view across to the southern escarpment of the Ochil Hills, taken from the upper basin of the Falkirk Wheel. The wedge-shaped building in the foreground is the Visitor Centre.
The Falkirk Wheel is a mechanical boat lift that was built for the Millennium. It replaced a flight of 11 locks that originally joined the Union Canal to the Forth & Clyde Canal. It is a very impressive structure, and well worth a visit.
A scene in the Ochils looking towards Whitewisp Hill on the top right, taken from Tarmangie Hill whose summit is just through the gate on the left. Innerdownie can also be seen in the far distance at the top left.
Taken in the Ochils, near the start of the private road leading to the Glendevon reservoirs and Frandy Fishery.
This is a view towards a small hill called Ben Shee in the Ochils, which can be seen just right of the centre rising into the sky. The road is the track that leads past both Glendevon reservoirs; the reservoir in view is Lower Glendevon.
The small building is the club house for Frandy Fishery.
