One Battle After Another feels like a vibe directed version of a movie; a cheap plastic diversion that is touted by its creator and others as meaningful, but it's shallow, hollow.
The most substance and meaning it has is the racist sexual objectification and vilification of Black women, not anti-oppression, as claimed.
Its racism is wrapped in white (male) saviorism; a failed parody signifying nothing, at best.

Oh, and also....I thought that #OneBattleAfterAnother #OBAA was AWFUL.
Just awful.
Other than Sean Penn, who did the acting of his entire career and SO deserved that #Oscar
Congrats to SINNERS and OBAA 🔥 🎬

Being part of the awards show conversation was all Teyana Taylor wanted. And now it’s happening for the “multihyphenate, who just hit two decades in the entertainment business in just about every position — from Grammy-nominated musician, to director, dancer, choreographer, reality TV personality, creative director, you name it,” Marcus Jones writes for @IndieWire. Jones spoke with Taylor as the Academy Awards approach (March 15) and her scene-stealing role in “One Battle After Another,” which just hand her an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
