If you call #o2 DE on a Sunday you spend 10 minutes talking to a machine that does not understand "Ja". Then it puts you through to a person except the message then says we are closed. You cannot even BEGIN to imagine how utterly diabolically bad customer service is even when automated.

Obwohl #Congstar eigentlich mit zur Telekom gehört, so werden auf der Pixel Watch (zurzeit?) nur #Telekom, #Vodafone und #o2 sowie 1&1 unterstützt.

Ich nutze auch auf meinem #Google #Pixel 7 Pro eine Congstar-Prepaid-Karte, und wenn ich dann die Option “eSIM für die Pixel #Watch einrichten” aufrufe, funktioniert das so leider nicht.

Da ich aber noch einen ziemlich alten Prepaid-Vertrag (Prepaid wie ich will - 2. Generation) habe, mit dem ich für 3 EUR/500 MB für vier Wochen buchen kann, was vermutlich für meine Watch völlig ausreichen wird, habe ich ein wenig getrickst:

Ich habe eine leihweise zur Verfügung gestellte Vodafonekarte in das #Smartphone eingelegt, und siehe da – nun kann ich den QR-Code einer weiteren “Vodafone-MultiSIM-Karte” scannen.

Dass ich stattdessen jetzt den #eSIM QR-Code einer Congstar-Prepaidkarte einlese, den Unterschied merkt das System nicht.

Voilà – läuft. 😀

These are from when we built Genie Internet for Cellnet - Originally on the Telex floor (where Wireplay was), and then we had to move it up to the 5th or 6th onto my office floor, where the corporate networks hung out. This was the install record, sadly taken on a 1999 digital camera, sorry! I had a skim, there's nothing in there that would be considered classified these days.

The Celnet Genie service, which we designed as an "ISP in a box", was pretty amazing, really, especially for an essentially free ISP.

Also, it's one of those odd jobs where you end up as both lead applications architect, systems manager, server builder, removal dude, and underfloor cable rat and crimper in the same project. I feel jobs like that in big corporations tend not to exist any more.
