I'm still waiting for one of our #NZMedia journalists to ask Willis or Luxon if the NZ government has made any requests for Trump and his compromised regime to surrender before there's any more damage done to the global economy and environment.

@MWGNZ

I am yet to hear a single #NZMedia entity or #NZPol politician mention that IIran has granted safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz to any vessel provided the cargo/oil they are carrying has been paid for using the Chinese yuan and they have negotiated safe passage with Iran prior to sailing.

There’s currently EU countries in negotiations with Iran to secure safe passage for their ships.

Is NZ so scared of the clown in the White House that it is unwilling to take this opportunity particularly when considering NZ’s biggest source of foreign money is the Chinese yuan?

@Lazarou @ChrisMayLA6

We have a similar problem in Aotearoa NZ. Unlike UK, NZ has a proportional representation system of government similar to the German system - Mixed Member Proportional Representation aka MMP.

The NZ Greens have a strong representation in parliament but have never been in government they have had ‘confidence and supply’ relationships with Labour led governments but have never been able to get roles inside cabinet.

This year there’s another #NZPol general election and the right are getting seriously nervous about the Greens policies and rise in popularity. The #NZMedia continue to either ignore or misrepresent the Greens. However the reality is, like everywhere else, the msm no longer have the power and influence they once had.

I hope 2026 will see Greens form a coalition government with NZ Labour who, it must be said, are far better than Kid Starver and his UK Labour imposters.

@Niall

Yes, I was driving about half an hour ago and turned on #RNZ just long enough to hear what “the government” thinks about opposition leader Chris Hipkins’ state of the nation address yet learned nothing of what Chris Hipkins actually said. Makes me think the rot goes deep. #NZPol #NZMedia

A great insight into how the #NZPol right manipulate #NZMedia compared with the left, with a particular focus on the legitimacy of the #TPU and Curia polling.

"[&] People with their own serious stories, who have been messaging off and on for months, ... are finally ready to speak. They text. They email. They DM. They Signal. They WhatsApp. They Viber. But I had zero capacity. I couldn’t open them. That feels awful, because I know roughly what’s in them, and how many more failures there are."

"Some weeks in journalism feel much bigger than the people doing the work, than any one newsroom or byline or reporter. This was one of those weeks.
...
There is a direct line .... to the public now seeing the truth, which didn’t surface on its own. People had to push it there. Detectives. Journalists. Editors. Lawyers. Everyone who insisted on more than silence."

I made the mistake of reading two paragraphs penned by Damien Grant this morning, and i think I'll need the day off.

"Teachers and school leaders across the country are dealing daily with the impact of poverty, trauma, inequity, inadequate resourcing for diverse learners, and the pressures on families brought by the cost-of-living crisis. ... To reduce the complexity of education in this country to whether a classroom has a door or not, is not only simplistic but also misleading."
