It was an honour to speak at the 2nd Haiku Down Under workshop back in August and I'm delighted to now be reading the anthology that came from it. We were tasked with applying one or more techniques learnt at the workshop. This piece is a senryu of mine using 'the ha ha moment' along with a sense image that employs smell rather than the common visual sense. It also envokes the senses of loss, longing and fleetingness, along with a little 'down under' relatability.
