The smartest thing Hipkins can say in response to media questions regarding #NZGreens excellent tax policy is #NZLabour has its own tax policy which differs from the Green’s tax policy. It’s up to the #NZPol voters to decide in the upcoming election which policy they support.

In response to #RNZ quickly ensuring the #AtlasNetwork Act Party's criticism of #NZGreens tax policy released today was rushed out I am pleased they have now got around to releasing the Greens actually announcing their #NZPol tax policy that Seymour was criticising.

Bob LeFridge Stuff seem to have broken the Greens' embargo on this document and it's full of good stuff.
NZ GREENS TAX POLICY
* 2.5% tax on net assets of super-rich above $10 million.
* Return corporate tax rate to 33% for the 0.7 percent biggest corporations, like the supermarket duopoly, energy companies, and banks.
* Introduce Bank Levy of 0.06% on the liabilities of the four big banks, like Australia has.
* Make big tech companies pay their fair share by enforcing the 5% withholding tax rate on the profits they send offshore.
* Reverse Luxon’s landlord tax cuts and the changes to the brightline tests.
That last point is a doozy that'll have National's blue-rinse brigade fuming. Read more in the Greens' PDF.
