I keep getting emails asking to support work of the writer/director of the horrifically problematic #musical I dropped out of two years ago. They were sending me emails back then too even after I dropped out because they were performing in NY #Theater Fest and I guess they needed money.

Bearing in mind I sent a very long email to the director when I dropped out explaining why the show was so inappropriate, problematic, and triggering and was met with basically radio silence beyond, effectively, "we wish you luck bye" (see attached image for the content of my email as well as the reply I got)

This show was a massive yikes and I can't believe:

A. That she kept me on the email list after I called her out about the show being a problem.

B. That any reasonable, respectable theater festival would have accepted this show for performance.

It was a horrifyingly tasteless attempt to call out bigots by...spending two hours spouting bigoted language and highlighting why bigots have sad stories sometimes too.

#Theatre is supposed to challenge, but there's a line and this show is miles over it. And now she's written a new show she's seeking funding for which I'm sure is not problematic at all! #musicaltheater #nytheater #musicaltheatre #nytheatre
