this is a win-win move

#NYJ get something for Fields instead of releasing him & eating even more $ & the #Chiefs now have a veteran insurance policy for Mahomes if he's not ready to go Week 1, which isn't a stretch given he suffered his torn ACL very late last season (Week 15)

#JFD at 2pm.

The #Jets traded Justin Fields. What's it mean? As free agency dies down, where do #NYJ stand? What will they do in the #NFLDraft?

We're tackling it all at 2pm.

I did not think it was possible, but the #Jets have facilitated a trade for Justin Fields. He heads to the #Chiefs as Patrick Mahomes' backup.

There was some reluctance from Fields to be used as a wild-cat option with #NYJ after he was benched. He could be a real weapon for KC if he's more open to it there.

Wan'Dale Robinson (2nd), Cordale Flott (3rd) & Daniel Bellinger (4th) all reunited with Brian Daboll in Tennessee while Dane Belton (4th) joined the #NYJ

Evan Neal (1st) & Micah McFadden (5th) were re-signed to 1-yr deals, Kayvon Thibodeaux (1st) is entering his 5th yr option

The #Jets have agreed to terms with GDylan Parham, sources tell @SNYtv.

The actual monetary value of the contract: 2 years, $16 million with $7.49m guaranteed.

Team-friendly deal for Darren Mougey and #NYJ.

The #Jets are building up their defensive line. They've signed Joseph Ossai and Kingsley Enagbare, per sources.

Value additions for #NYJ

#Cowboys have added 2 former 2019 1st rd picks on defense in the last few months

2025 trade deadline: Quinnen Williams (3rd overall) from the #NYJ
right before the start of 2026 free agency: Rashan Gary (12th) from the #Packers - reunites with Kenny Clark up front

Big upgrade for the #Jets at safety. Fitzpatrick is 29, but still among better in NFL.

New York gets a jumpstart in fixing their secondary.

This free agent class is weak. Value buys will be #NYJ priority there. There splashes will come elsewhere -- like trades.

The #Jets might not target just one quarterback in free agency. Belief from agents who met with them at the NFL Combine is that they prefer to add two -- if they can. It's similar to what the #Giants did a year ago (Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston).

Kyler Murray was discussed, but he is expected to sign with the Vikings, per sources. No Kirk Cousins, but watch Geno Smith & Carson Wentz. There is interest there. Jacoby Brissett, too, if Cardinals can be convinced to part. Was told that's "doubtful," with Jimmy Garoppolo expected to stay in LA. JG signing with the Cardinals would change that.

Wentz might surprise some, because of the notion Frank Reich/Wentz relationship fell apart in Indianapolis. From my understanding, that was more GM/owner, not coach. The two remain very close.

One source told me that the QB Reich prefers is Wentz. A quote from another: "No one loves Wentz more than Frank."

We'll see what #NYJ can get done.

The biggest name to keep an eye on with the #Jets is LB Alex Anzalone, per sources. They've been linked for awhile. There's a robust market for him, though. I don't get the sense it's a slam dunk signing.

Fallback for #NYJ could be Micah McFadden, but the #Giants are trying to retain him. There is interest in him from the Jets.

Jets also had meetings at combine regarding interior offensive line -- second & third tier targets.
