This film is great. It retreads the same beats from the original film whilst offering slight twists on the situations. This is somehow a remake and a prequel. Sadly this is a problem as you are constantly reminded of the perfect first movie. The ultimate resolution of the film is satisfying and it does well to put everything in its starting position for 1982's The Thing. My biggest gripe in this film is using so much CGI when you really needed practical effects like the first film used. Those effects hold up extremely well and these just look slightly off

This evening I unexpectedly found myself #nowwatching The Last of Us (Season 2)
(Originally I put on Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. In regards to that show, I can see what they were trying to achieve but it wasn't for me.)
I forgot how good this show is, I want to rush to the PS5 and reinstall the game.
In that regard, the show feels like it's speeding through the game at quite pace. I wonder what point this season will end at or will it branch into its own direction.
