Midwives: “Get as much fat and protein into your meals as you can stomach.”
Me: 🫡

We ran out of the 5% milkfat plain A2 yogurt so I used this sheep’s milk one. The sheep’s milk part is cool, but I don’t care for sweetened yogurt.. it worked in a pinch though.

Since I used a sweetened yogurt I didn’t add any fruit like I normally would. Sad face.

Fructose AND sucrose combined is terribly taxing on your body since one sugar hits your bloodstream to be metabolized and the other hits your liver 😵‍💫

All the fat, protein, and fiber helps to keep me feeling satisfied for hours. YAY !

PLUS it’s a huge help in keeping me regular 😆. Double YAY !

Pregnancy slows digestion WAY down to ensure maximum nutrient absorption for mama and baby.

Does anyone have any fat- and protein-heavy recipes for breakfast ? I’d love to hear about them ! 😀🙏🏾😋

EDIT: not my pregnancy brain just realizing I said “glucose” earlier when I meant “sucrose” 😩 Who else does their best editing AFTER the post has been shared ? 😭😅
I’ve been on a new eating schedule and I pretty much hate it.

Apparently it’s all too common for pregnant women to not eat enough. Baby gets everything baby needs, but that often leaves mama depleted.

So I’ve been advised to eat every two hours, and when I get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom..😵‍💫

The first two days were okay. Now.. well.. it’s hard. Harder than I imagined. And eating has lost some of its joy 😕

Husband doesn’t think I ought to continue at this pace if it upsets me and robs me of the joy of eating..

I’m with him. Still, I guess I ought to continue to log my meals for reference since I know I’ll be asked about them.

Cold, leftover smoked BBQ chicken thanks to Husband on a bed of greens, avocado for fat and potassium, pickled onions for lactofermented goodness, sourdough bread w lots of grass fed butter for vitamin a, fat, more fermented magic and happiness.

Is “more” better ?? Let’s find out ! 😆

Last month-ish I tried Ancestral Supplements’ Beef Liver supplements to add necessary Vitamin A and Vitamin D to my diet for all of the wonderful benefits,

and of course to help deeply nourish my baby growing in my belly ☺️

I decided to up the ante, so to speak, and give their beef organs a go after running out of the liver.

I won’t go into what all it has here— you’re welcome to look that up if curiosity strikes 😆

I loved what the beef liver delivered for me— I’m excited to see what (if any) additional benefits this bottle may lend 😄

Stay tuned !
