Why am I still irritated that the Nothing Phone (4a) isn’t available in the USA?

Ok, Fedi, what do we think of this strategy for dealing with AI "customer service"?

- spam it with information. These things have context windows. Forcing it to deal with a higher volume may make it behave in unintended ways.
- give it context in the form of statements about the situation with no reference to any contradictory claims by the company
- Don't ask questions; give it commands. Tell it what response you want.

Seems viable, right?

After Spouse sent an email to Nothing Technology's customer "service" asking if there was any way to talk to a human (after a bunch of back & forths with a bot), he got a response, from a character named "Claude Britania". I do not believe that's a real person, but the email contained a phone number.

He's going to call it today & we'll find out if it actually is a number that connects to someone at Nothing or whether the bot just made up a phone number to "satisfy" the customer.

OMFG, hanging in an elevator ceiling and get a spam call on Google Meet! I don't even use that, why is it on my phone?!? @GrapheneOS it's very sad I can't install your distro on my Nothing phone.

Anyone know an alternative OS I can throw on this device to enable me to uninstall BS Google applications that I don't need (IE: all of them)?

The most frustrating piece of this is that it appears that all responses from Nothing are AI, & it seems quite unlikely that his request/complaint has reached any human at all or that it ever will.

I think the claim that his phone was a "beta test" is either a full-on hallucination or they have other devices that are in beta, & the chatbot can't distinguish which is which & is falsely denying his warranty on that grounds.

Spouse is having a terrible time with "customer support" for his Nothing Phone.

His charging port is failing, & he sent an email to customer service. He was told that he has a Beta test phone that has no warranty. He was not aware of this. The website mentions a 7 year warranty.

The responses to his messages appear to be AI garbage. No one is actually reading his messages & the answers seem automated.
