The Pembina Gorge dig was awesome - just... not a lot of cell coverage to upload awesome photos.

Great fish, our first plesiosaur, a bunch of birds, and some fun (modern) insects!

Finished up the top mosasaur, and then wondered if it would look better in red tones instead of blue/grey tones. So, now I have two! It's a school of mosasaurs. A pod? What do you call a group of mosasaurs? A fluke?

All natural wood colors, no stains. Top: blue mahoe, buckeye burl, turquoise, blue gum. Bottom: bloodwood, chakta viga, yellowheart. Both with ebony & holly eyes, with birdseye maple throat.

"Quetzalcoatlus northropi," digital paint in Photoshop.

Everyone's favorite giant broken umbrella, with a wingspan of around 33 feet, and a standing height of around 18 feet. Q. northopi was one of the largest creatures in Earth's history to ever be capable of flight.

Mastodon, meet Rastodon!

Fossils of this little #dicynodont were found in southern Brazil.* Many dicynodonts sported prominent tusks, but the tusks of Rastodon were tiny nubbins that curved sharply forward, all but hidden behind its beak.

A commission I did for the Life Before Dinosaurs exhibit at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences

*In #Permian rocks of the Rio do Rasto Formation, hence its name.
