Behold! The view from the highest point in #Bremen for #MountainMonday! 😂
It's a former landfill and a whooping 51 metres above sea level (although the viewing platform is at 40 metres – still higher than the highest natural elevation in Bremen 😜).
The landfill has been decommissioned and re-naturalized and is now the site of the art installation "Metalhenge". As the name suggests, #Metalhenge is a nod to Stonehenge, but with rusty metal pillars (or steles) made from old harbour sheet piles. The steles vary in height from 2.5 to 4 metres and are arranged in a circle with a radius of 25 metres. Like its namesake, it is also an #astronomical observatory. 🌌
