Neighbor’s Cat in Your Yard in North Dakota: What the Law Actually Says
Few neighborhood disputes feel quite as murky as dealing with a cat that keeps wandering into your yard. You know where it came from, but you are not sure what — if anything — the law actually allows you to do about it. In North Dakota, the answer depends on a patchwork of state statutes, local ordinances, and general property law principles. North Dakota is one of the states without specific statewide feral cat laws, which means the rules are less straightforward than you might expect. The box of random paper from yesterday’s North Star Auction got more interesting the deeper I dove. Halfway down, I encountered the horrors, as somebody did an early 1900s version of scrapbooking by cutting up magazine covers along with illustrations and photos out of ads. But amongst all that butchery was 202 intact or mostly intact magazine covers from the late 1910s to the early 1930s - some trimmed down a bit and some not. This morning, I sorted into three sizes and did the count, but have yet to flip them all over to see what kind of inside-front-cover (IFC) ads I ended up with. Shabby and not too shabby!

I’m going through of box of various paper things I won at the end of today’s North Star Auction, and a Harper’s Weekly from 1863 is a pleasant surprise.
