Struggling a bit this morning after “the news” from cardiac testing yesterday. I’m not really bothered, as I’ve always felt the “Sword of Damocles” since I was a teenager; had my father go into hospital the day after Christmas (suspected heart attack, but was hiatal hernia)- and later watched remaining grandparents pass. But that feeling, stress of home remodeling, recent political-work & health (COVID) horrors, & recent teenager’s mental state add up- so, I’m not finding a lot to motivate me into a good head space this morning. I’ve already reached out to the employee assistance program- and approved for 6 paid counseling sessions. So that will hopefully help. Last night my spouse & I talked over a glass of red wine (Apothic), and we both think it’s going to be a conversation to be had with the Cardiologist in January- of being “proactive” rather than waiting & watching passively. We’re not discussing any of this with the teen yet, because they’re not in the “right mental state” anyway. (And I don’t want them to have the nightmarish memories that I still have… and deal with.) (changing subjects) But hey,“new kicks”- needed them for the treadmill test. #NordstromRack seems to have great prices on decent men’s shoes. 🤷🏻‍♂️🦀🚲 But what is that loop on the heel for?
