Northern summer nights are the best. In the first picture it's 11.30ish PM, and it's about to get dim. You can easily stay up all night eating s'mores 🤤

A summer evening in Helsinki, June 2024. I found some barnacle geese herding their fluffy goslings. The birds are habituated with people and somewhat divisive because there are a lot of them in Helsinki and they poop all over the place. I don't mind them: the lawns of our parks don't have to be empty green "deserts". Besides, it's fun to watch the cute goslings go about their day. Furthermore, I like to see what kind of predators the geese attract. In 2020, I saw a white-tailed eagle hunting barnacle geese in Helsinki. Red foxes definitely keep an eye on the geese as well.

The weather was nice, so I spent a while today cleaning the #barbecue which hadn't been used since last summer I think... Vinegar, baking soda, and a scouring pad, and some elbow grease did wonders fortunately. :)

The bottom air vent is rusted stuck though, and I'm not sure the legs will survive another winter, so I might replace it at the end of the season when the #grills inevitably go on discount; picked this one up for less than 10 bucks (or was it 5 even?) about 2 or 3 years too.
