I'm a former photographer. I used to shoot a lot of people before asking for their consent. I used to be a fan of Bruce Gilden, and by the way, his invasive flash assholery is not the only type of his works, so I guess I still am. Heck, I'm thinking sometimes about doing a short old-school street-photo vacation in Netherlands, just because laws there are chill about concent when doing it for the art.
But.
What triggers me about the #39c3 #photopolicy is that the congress is the perfectly wrong place to do this kind of art: it's full of vulnerable people, who can face real problems if their photo leaks; but also full of security enthusiasts, who can think of a million ways to exploit this stupid exception in #nophoto policy. For example, pretending to be this mysterious Stella :D
