LA NOTIZIA: No primarie, no party

Pare che sia tramontata l’idea delle primarie per scegliere il candidato premier del centrosinistra alle prossime elezioni. Ma non capisco perché.

Gentile lettrice, è tramontata perché dai sondaggi è emerso che vincerebbe Conte, seconda sarebbe Silvia Salis (sindaca di Genova e, a detta di molti, cavallo di Troia di Renzi) e solo terza Schlein. Questo è quanto. Il resto è ammuina, aria fritta. D’altra parte è realistico pensare che Conte sia l’unico che possa battere Meloni, perché è il suo perfetto contrario: ha cultura universitaria, un parlare forbito ma chiaro, statura internazionale, è percepito come uomo serio che mantiene le promesse. Guardi Meloni, priva di titoli accademici, servile verso Usa e Ue, brava a far volare gli asini e sparare balle, mai una promessa mantenuta (evito l’elenco perché è lunghissimo). Schlein non ha mezza chance di battere Meloni e finirebbe peggio di Letta. Lo si capì dal primo giorno: assurta alla guida del partito erede del Pci e della tradizione operaia, a chi concesse la prima intervista? Nientemeno che a Vogue Italia, con foto in pose da mannequin e rivelando (udite, udite!) che lei e la sua compagna vestono su consiglio d’una armocromista (sic!) pagata centinaia di euro l’ora, per altro con risultati discutibili. Azzerati 150 anni di sinistra. Chiediamoci seriamente: tra gli italiani normali – quelli non iscritti a un partito, che sono la quasi totalità del Paese – chi ha stima di Schelin? Chi pensa che la ricca ragazzotta italo-svizzera-statunitense sarebbe la salvezza d’Italia o comunque meglio della furba Meloni? Credo nessuno, proprio nessuno.

It seems the idea of primaries to choose the center-left premier candidate for the upcoming elections has faded. But I don’t understand why.

Dear reader, it’s faded because polls showed Conte would win, Silvia Salis would come in second place (mayor of Genoa and, according to many, Renzi’s Trojan horse), and only Schlein would come in third. That’s the truth. The rest is nonsense, hot air. On the other hand, it’s realistic to think that Conte is the only one who can beat Meloni, because he’s her perfect opposite: he has a university degree, a sophisticated but clear way of speaking, international stature, is perceived as a serious man who keeps his promises. Look at Meloni, without academic qualifications, subservient to the US and EU, good at riding donkeys and spewing garbage, never keeping a promise (I’m avoiding the list because it’s so long). Schlein has no chance of beating Meloni and would end up worse than Letta. You understood this from the first day: absurd to lead the party that inherits the PCI and the labor tradition, who gave her the first interview? None other than to Vogue Italia, with poses like a mannequin and revealing (listen, listen!) that she and her partner dress on the advice of a color consultant (sic!) paid hundreds of euros an hour, and, moreover, with questionable results. 150 years of the left wiped out. Let’s seriously ask ourselves: among normal Italians – those not registered with a party, which make up the vast majority of the country – who respects Schlein? Who thinks that the rich Italian-Swiss-American girl would be Italy’s salvation or, at the very least, better than the cunning Meloni? I don’t think anyone, absolutely no one.
