‘Massive disinformation campaign’ is slowing global transition to green energy.

Of course the O&G companies are going to do this.

Did we really think they were going to go down without fighting dirty?

IMO the solutions are: radical reform of the sport called lobbying; eliminate industry & lobby group funding of politicians; ban ‘dirty’ advertising; much tougher action on greenwashing.

Make My Money Matter

TotalEnergies tried to silence Greenpeace France by intimidating them with court action, requiring the deletion of a report into TotalEnergies' 2019 greenhouse gas emissions.

TotalEnergies claimed their emissions were 455 million tonnes of CO2e. The Greenpeace report estimated actual CO2e emissions of 1,635,648,000 tonnes.

The Paris Judicial Court dismissed the summons, giving Greenpeace France a significant victory for freedom of speech, allowing them to question the extent of the climate impact caused by companies like TotalEnergies.
