I prefer #OCIImages and #foss alternatives to the Docker way.

It takes some doing but the Nix way is sinhlehadedly causing the Docker people to rethink their system and its #nondeterminism.

Just read a very interesting paper on Artificial Intelligence by Edlyn V. Levine, PhD called "Cargo Cult AI" in the latest Communications of the ACM (09/2023, pp.46, https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3606946). She argues that intelligence requires being capable of doing certain things, such as establishing universality, nondeterminism, and causal inference.
