Nonbinary people are nonbinary regardless of who their partner, or partners, may be.

Nonbinary people don't spontaneously transform into whatever gender an onlooker decides is appropriate under any circumstances.

There will be times when people around you will express bigotry towards nonbinary people. As a nonbinary person yourself, it can be easy to feel ashamed for not standing up to it enough, in the right way, or at all when it happens.

Remember that it's their fault, not yours. Even though it might help in the long run, you don't have a responsibility to correct them.

Your responsibility is to survive. Surviving means picking your battles, not taking on all of them.

You can certainly change your nonbinary labels (and your other labels, too). You can also change how you exist within those labels.

You can change your appearance, demeanor, pronouns and more, while keeping your labels unchanged.

It's all up to you.

You don't have to settle for a shitty relationship just because you're nonbinary.

There are plenty of decent people out there who would appreciate all of you.

Find someone worth your time and make their life brighter, too.

If you have to "pass" as a woman or a man for safety reasons then do so. It undermines nothing about your true nonbinary self.

The world is vast and often hostile. As a nonbinary person, the threats to your life are greater than many.

Do what you must to survive.

Being nonbinary will only drive off those who don't deserve your company.

Being who you are in all your magnificent strangeness will draw in people worth your time.

Being nonbinary doesn't necessarily mean leaving your other communities.

Nonbinary identities vary widely and can be quite flexible. More importantly, the communities that you're currently part of can adjust to a nonbinary person (despite what some bigots may say).

Just as you adapt to the world, the world can adapt to you, too.

Being nonbinary is something to be proud of, and there's no need to shy away from that feeling.

You're a lovely, powerful being unwilling to be snuffed out by centuries of bigotry.

You should be proud of it.

When someone says that there are too many pronouns these days, it’s like complaining that there are too many exoplanets and they’re all too different from Earth to be worth studying. It just shows how limited and fearful their view of the world is.

There's going to be overlap between nonbinary people as a group and different parts of the queer/lgbtq community.

Your experience as an individual nonbinary person with said overlap will not be the same as all nonbinary people.

We are not all the same. We don't even have to be similar. In fact, our differences contribute to a wider and more lovely community.
