Life of Maino 🇪🇺After almost 2 decades I finally managed to move away from #noip. It started nice and easy with a free account and inadyn set up. After a while you had to login at least once a month on the website otherwise inadyn would fail. So I updated to a paid account (still cheaper than a domain back then). Now, domains are cheaper and lots of noip domains are blacklisted, so I changed. As a little bonus: now my host is in the #EU.

Marcus AdamsJust got an email from #NoIP; they're raising their prices and the email is essentially telling me to renew my domains before the price hike so I can avoid it a little longer. The email says you can renew for up to 10 years at once to push the updated price down the road.
Updated prices take effect January 6th.

#GoodMorning! #Noip.com is offering a free #DynDNS service. Nice, no problem with that. You have to pay to update the record automatically, no problem with that.
The shit goes wrong when you don't update the record and your domain goes into "redemption" and you cannot remove it or prolong it again unless you pay...😅
It would be better not to offer a free service than make it a fucking trap to force users to pay. If I've ever cosidered paying - they've lost me.
